The City Council of Gaia launched a photographic contest about the county, in order to promote the participation of citizens in the common objective of capturing unprecedented images of the city, having as main context the current moment experienced around the world.

They proposed to find “unpublished images of the city” and finally released them after two postponements due to the high number of participations – which, in fact, motivated the creation of an extra category, with the theme Feeling the Pandemic and beyond the initial categories, one for photographers under 25 and the other for all subsequent age groups.

“Without necessarily being the focus of the contest, the normality of the city is already the result of the constraints caused by the pandemic, so the images will be able to capture this unique moment in our collective history”, explains the municipality.

The award-winning photographs will form a book and will be displayed in large numbers on billboards scattered throughout the county.
